Thus Far...

I just wanted to share with anyone who would listen how awesome my week has been thus far! Clients are back in town, which makes my job more fun...energy level is sky high with clients/classes...my organization/planning/preparation of my meals have already paid off amazingly and I got a new lulu outfit for this weekends competition at Crossfit Katy (okay, so maybe that one was negative for the checking acct, LOL) and I get to spend the weekend with family and friends! I could go on and on but I will stop there! :)

I have really enjoyed doing a workout saluting the start of football season (when football is in season, things especially in Texas just seem right)! Even though many dislike burpees they get a kick out of doing the following workout:
# of days till Longhorn Football = # of burpees to be done :)
Football started on 8-8-10...Dallas vs. Cinn 17-6 (correct me if I'm wrong)
6 rounds (for the score...17 is just really long)
8 lunges on Left leg (August is the 8th month)
8 lunges on Right Leg (it was the 8th day in August)
10 squats (year)

Not only has football season started...Monica Brant with Austin Fit Magazine showed up camera crew and all and did my FREE Monday 5:30-6:30pm Core Class at Jack and Adams. I'm assuming this was part of the Kick Mo's Butt section in the magazine but who knows. All I know is she showed up with camreas at MY class. I was so excited...I got in my car after the class and attempted to call lots of people to tell someone, but no one answered so I left lots of messages :) If the article gets published TRUST ME you will know! LOL!

I hope your week is going half as good as mine!!! #LovinLife #GodIsGood

How Has Eating Clean Helped You?

I know alot of y'all are tired of hearing me talk about how much zoneing and paleo has beneifited me, therefore I'm taking the time to interview people and get their opinions so you can see I'm not 100% crazy! See what Jess and CP have to say about their experience of eating paleo.

More Videos To Come! Let me know how I can help you stay on track!!!

10lb Jealousy

I have two 10lb med balls that I bring to Rentless Bootcamps (see my side bar to see where I teach bootcamps). If you ask Tim in the 5:30am T/Th Class at Jack and Adams, he calls the 10lb-er the "beer" and the 6lb-er the "Zima", which makes me laugh. These 10lb-ers have become not only a hit in my bootcamps, but a challenge. How much can I do with the 10lb-er before I have to go back to the 6lb-er. I LOVE IT! I have seen a lot of people really step up their game to take on the 10lb-er.

During bootcamp last week, Neil (attends the 6:30am T/Th Jack and Adams bootcamp) went to pick up the 10lb-er for abs and noticed it was gone. He looked over and Selena, our newest bootcamper had stepped up her game and took on the 10lb-er! Out of jealousy Neil grabbed two 6lb-ers and continued...check it out:

Success Already!

Meet Dorothy Brady! Dorothy started Crossfit in June by attending my 5:30pm Brentwood Bootcamp! Dorothy is such a go-getter...I LOVE IT! In bootcamp we do benchmark workouts so we are able to track our progress. One of the benchmarks is within one min how many situps can you do, in another min how many push ups can you do and how many squats can you do in a min. On June 8th, 2010 Dorothy performed this benchmark. Her results were:
Sit-ups - 17
Push ups - 14
Squats - 15

Since it was BLAZING hot outside on Aug.3rd, my class made a smart decision and agreed to do the situp/pushup/squat test instead of the mile run. Dorothy's results were:
Sit ups - 40
Push ups - 24
Squats - 34

HOW AMAZING IS THAT? Dorothy has made changes in her lifestyle by adding activity and dialing in her nutrition and in just 2 months has made HUGE improvements in her movement! I cannot wait till we can check her body comps in a month! I'm such a proud coach! Keep On Keeping On Dorothy!

The 5 Boroughs

On this day Jess and I did a workout at KLn. and experimented using her new flip cam! Check it out! She told me to let y'all know this is her first time to produce a video so be patient...I think it is awesome and there is more to come! Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Scones

This is from Elana's Pantry book, the Gluten-Free Almond Flour cookbook which I need to return to Melisa (Thanks for letting me use it). If you got to try this oh so yummy, sweet tooth saver, delicious treat today here is how I made it.

2 1/2 cups of blanched almond flour
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup grapeseed oil
1/4 cup agave nectar
2 large eggs
1 cup coarsely chopped dark chocolate (73% cacao)

Prehead oven to 350. Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper.
In large bowl, combine the almond flour, salt, and baking soda. In a med bowl, whisk together the grapeseed oil, agave nectar, and eggs. Stir the wet ingredients into the almond flour mixture until thoroughly combined, then fold in the chocolate. Drop the batter in scant 1/4 cups 2 inches apart, onto the prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 12-17mins, until golden brown or a toothpick inserted into the center of a scone comes out clean. Let the scones cool for 30mins on the baking sheet, then serve!

Enjoy!
