Define "support"...

My high school powerlifting coach, Coach D, gave me the name ApplePie my freshman year of high school because he said I was as American as Applepie. Since I had a strong desire to not only deadlift 300lbs I wanted to squat 300lbs. I quickly became Applepie300. The picture below is one of me when I was a junior in high school and I pulled 300lbs in a powerlifting meet for the first time. This was a HUGE moment for me! I'm talking HUGE!!! The picture below is of me at Crossfit Central coaches WOD on Wednesday (6.22.11). The workout was 5x3 deadlifts. If you don't know, you can tell I like deadlifts. After our 5x3s I just wanted to see if I could still pull 300lbs and well the pic is proof I can! Whats the difference in the pics (other than age)? In the first picture, my "support" is coming from my powerlifting suit and belt. Notice I don't have these on in the 2nd pic. So where is my support coming from that allowed this weight to FLY up? The other coaches on the blacktop encouraging me (every day) to stand it up. I said it before and I'll say it again....Whats the secret? #COMMUNITY!!!
